Born in Chicago, Illinois, I learned at an early age that through art, it was easier to communicate my ideas about the world and the people around me. I attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where I studied oil painting and figure drawing. As a student, I concentrated more on the technical aspects of art: drawing, color, composition and design. Over time, I began to focus more on bringing energy and life into my work. Upon graduation, I was recruited by Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri, to work as an illustrator. I currently work as a full-time artist creating compelling imagery for the public and private sector.
